Kharar: A shocking incident of violence was reported near Mohali, where businessman Ranjeev Kumar Wassan, known for providing IT services to Sikh organizations worldwide, narrowly escaped a dangerous attack.

According to reports, the incident occurred while Wassan was returning home with his family in an Alto car. A black Scorpio SUV allegedly rammed his vehicle from behind in an apparent attempt to force it to stop. Eyewitness accounts suggest that the Scorpio carried multiple armed individuals equipped with guns, knives, and sticks. The vehicle’s number plates were reportedly concealed, indicating premeditation.

The attackers allegedly shouted abuses and threats, labeling Wassan with political slurs. Sources indicate the possibility that the assault may have been planned following his recent return from Canada, raising concerns about his safety.

Despite the sudden and aggressive nature of the attack, Wassan managed to maintain control of his vehicle and swiftly fled the scene. The assailants reportedly pursued him for a short distance, but he was able to escape without physical harm.

Local authorities are expected to investigate the incident, which has sparked concern over rising targeted violence in the region of Punjab.
